BLACK & WHITE 2019

Back from the United States, Eric Mangen builds upon his first monochrome experience in the US and elaborates it as a personal new form of expression. Originally, deeply drawn to colors as essential elements of his paintings, Eric sets himself the challenge to work on the black and white series, a process that spanned over a year. The absence of the language of the color and contrasting types of black and white paint, such as glossy and mat, enabled Eric to elaborate a more sculptural approach within his work.
